Here in New Orleans, we love to celebrate the food, wine, drinks and music. However, when our loved ones die we celebrate them as well. On the other hand, what happens to those families when their kin are murdered and their killers get reduced sentences for the murders? After Hurricane Katrina, that exact thing happened. New Orleans Police Officers were indicted, tried and convicted of murdering a mentally disabled man.
There were to have sentences ranging from a few years to sixty five year. Their cases were over turned by a judge and today those murders are getting just a few years, some years have already been served since Hurricane Katrina was 11 years ago. I hope the families can find peace. These men, when out of prison will always wear the letter M, for murderer.
